Technical & Marketing Writer
Robin is one of those rare birds who believes good documentation is key; to a company’s brand. Plus, complex products and services. Now with AI, API, and Chat Bots this is even more important. The right documentation shortens learning curves. Reduces customer service calls. Saves time and money.
She’s been in the manufacturing industry for over 30 years. Programs change. Yet most people still don’t understand them. Her friends and family are always asking her to interpret computer speak for them. Loving the challenge, Robin turned to technical writing. And, she writes with them in mind.
As a technical and marketing writer, Robin helps you strategize the best ways to inform your users; through different types of content. These include standard operating procedures (SOPs). User manuals. Use cases. User stories. Case studies and white papers; to name a few.
She solves problems. Organizes content. Creates new documents. Or, replaces and updates current documents. She teaches, too!
Interviews Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). Loves learning. That’s why interviewing subject matter experts comes easily to her. Plus, her inquisitive mind (she’s like that little kid always asking why).
As though computers weren’t challenging enough, Robin learned how to sail as an adult. She’d always found the boating (Maritime) industry fascinating. She’s interviewed countless industry experts. Visited hundreds of marine ports in the US and abroad. Took several courses in safety. And, in 2009 produced her first interview audio series with 11 marine industry experts.
Since then, she has published books. A column in both newspapers and newsletters. Writes lots of technical, safety and travel articles for both B2C and B2B.
In Robin’s spare time she loves to walk the beach, photograph a variety of subjects, read good detective stories, travel, crochet shawls for four-to-six-year olds in the cancer wards, write travel articles, and sail in Boston Harbor. She’s also working on a Gluten-Free dessert cook book.
